14Years of RPing Rena
Higurashi gets a new Anime in the year when I’ll be in Japan/Akihabara!!
I’m still alive and active on other sites. I can’t express how happy the news of a new higurashi anime published on strawberry cheesecake day on that makes me. Sure it makes me want to rp here actively again. but when it comes to RP I’m also hella sad and broken.
As I posted sometimes last year, I stopped roleplaying here on tumblr. Because fuck isola. I’m not even gonna bother to explain what happened and what they never got right, and I could always just make a seperate account and apply as Rena or some other character in isola without letting them know I was ever a member of citta and what not, but honestly. Isola is the worst rp community I ever experienced in over 20years.
But what I actually wanted to make clear here is….
I started roleplaying Rena from higurashi as a kid in 2006. My first platform for that was myspace. and my username back then was Ryuuguu Rena (I love my billhook). the url was renaryuuguu, when myspace rping died, I moved on and on. In all of that many years I experienced so many higuxumi related things, mainly good ones, but also some sad ones ( as higu activity dying etc.)
As stupid as it sounds, I was always like a “real” Higurashi Rena, but instead of a junkyard, I had several hideouts and one of my habits was sitting inside a shopping cart with an umbrella over my head whenever it rained. Alas, I still love rain. It’s my favorite weather.
Higurashi/Umineko and Rena is part of my life and as I said once in a youtube video of myself. “I will live with it forever and die with it.” Higurashi healed and helped me in a way. Nothing else ever did. Even Ryukishi-sama himself knows about that and blessed me for that. In all those years I did always stick to roleplaying Rena as my main rp character. if not on tumblr anymore , then somewhere else, mainly twitter or discord. but point is, regardless of how old Higurashi became and how much I knew about it,
I NEVER GOT NOR GET BORED WITH IT!
Hell, I even learned japanese to understand Rena even better and act always absolute 100% ic; I’m still studying japanese to make my dream come true which is to work by @home cafe. for that reason I spend way less time rping actively in english rather than in japanese! but that doesn’t means I won’t consider to become active on tumblr again. but I’m not sure yet, it’s probably up to how much the Higurashi fandom will revive now.
In any case, I’m studying japanese, and help as mod. at an IRC server known as Mystery Online where you can pick sprites of your choice (higurashi included) and chat or rp. Furthermore , starting this fall 2020 I will fly to Japan. and stay in Akihabara to continue my japanese study in Tokyo. Until then I have a lot of plans I want to accomplish, for example losing weight< getting new outfits for outside which will be lolita themed. instead of my indoor lifestyle which is a maid&cosplay lifestyle.
